In my home wiping away sticky fingerprints is a frequent chore; although less so than when my children were little. Sticky fingerprints testify to what has been happening and especially what has been eaten! However often in life we fail to even notice God’s fingerprints around us. We can forget that God is busy at work around us, everywhere and all the time. We think that we have to start things for God which can feel burdensome. But our task is more exciting than that. It is to look and watch for what God is doing and what he has already set in motion. And then join in with it. What is God doing where you work, in the lives of your colleagues, your friends or your children? How has he already taken the initiative? Where are his actions of grace? Let’s keep our eyes open for God’s fingerprints in the knowledge that his plans are so much bigger and greater in scope than ours. And then let’s join in! Rev Sarah Jones
