Carols: a great way to connect

In a culture where few go to church, Christmas Carols are a great opportunity to present the good news of Jesus’ birth to so many people in our community. This weekend we have two big opportunities to do this:
  • Carols in the Square - Saturday 5pm
We will gather in Coronation Square to sing carols led by the Salvation Army band. Please plan to come along and support the event, and if you can help during the afternoon to put up the stage from 2.00pm or prepare the refreshments in the community centre from 3.30pm or hand out carol sheets as people arrive from 4.30pm, we’d love to see you earlier. But come anyway, and join in the singing at 5pm.
  • St Matthew’s Carol Service - Sunday 5pm
On Sunday afternoon we have our Carol Service at St Matthew’s which a fantastic musical extravaganza! We have a good number of visitors from the community, family and friends, and there’s a great opportunity afterwards to chat to people over refreshments in the church hall with delicious sandwiches, snacks & home-made cakes.

So I encourage you to be inviting, to get involved, and to be praying for these events so that they will connect all who come with the real reason for the season.

If you’re in the singing group, don’t forget the rehearsal on Saturday at 11am.

See you there,

With love in Christ,

Pads
