Join Us This Sunday at St. Matthew's

In this age of social media and 24 hour news coverage, a story is old hat in the blink of an eye. In such a frenzied, febrile atmosphere, the clamour for likes and sensationalism renders the ability to retain information diminished and with it the ability to remember lessened. Governments count on it!

With this in mind, Mike Penny’s message to us during the remembrance service was a timely reminder that we should take the time to pause and reflect. As is often said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it “.

Closer to home, I think of all those in St Matthews, who right now are having to face varying kinds of heartache and pain.  During such times, when the enemy comes in like a flood, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the circumstances and yet these are the very  times when it’s good to remember, and remind ourselves of who he is, what he’s done and the promises he’s made.
